event log
[All handwritten in French and kept in a desk drawer in his room]
The notes of Cit. Chauvelin, kept in order to log the strange occurrences that have happened while inthis place Nouveau Paris. As dates for these events have not been set in stone, events will be recorded on a month to month basis. As much detail will be logged as possible.
June
Legends
Creatures showed up. Some seemed to have connections to people's homes and lives before here. Multiple were expressed as 'legends' or 'fairy tales', though some people have personal connections with the creatures.
Possible Causes: Cit. Burnett seemed to imply it was 'magic'. Otherwise, the general consensus seems to be that it was caused by this place.
-A gingerbread house with bones in it, spotted by Cit. Smith and explored by Cits. Smith and others. Possibly relates to legend of Hansel and Gretel. Cit. Smith took the bones for evidence, but they vanished when the event ended.
-Scarlet pimpernels, possibly brought by myself or Sir Percy.
-The "Goat-Man of Maryland", brought by Cit. Campbell. Apparently half-man, half-goat.
-Multiple dogs. One 'giant dog with glowing eyes', spotted by Cit. Watson. A poodle, spotted by myself. [AND THAT IS ALL CHAUVELIN WILL SAY ON THAT MATTER]
-A gingerbread man, spotted by Cit. Moriarty.
-Fungus, brought by Cit. Luigi. Note: must question Cit. Luigi's state of mind, describes things that fungus obviously cannot do.
-Overwhelming darkness, spotted by Cit. Maxim
-Devils, brought by Cit. Fanshawe. Note: must question Cit. Fanshawe's state of mind as well
-A giant frog, brought by Cit. Teppic.I hate it here
Heatwave
A heatwave has stuck our city. The refrigeration devices have broken down, the "air conditioning" does not work, the fountain has dried up, sea creatures and seaweed wash up on the beach. Temperatures were hot enough to cause mild sickness and spells of dizziness.
All in all, quite an odd change from the last event.

The Underwater Base
All of us were teleported to what apparently was an underwater base. Clad inhorrible jumpsuits, we explored the base and found that it once was a facility for weaponizing sea animals (ex: fish, sharks, etc.). Around the last day, the base started to flood and the animals began to attack. I personally saw sharks and some kind of large fish. Casualties included Cits. Nazarova, Watson. Any questions about the process of weaponizing animals as well as the structure of the base should be directed to Cits. Burnett, Clark, Weisler and Smiley, as they have reported us all about certain aspects of the ship or the animals.
The Wolf
For some reason, a giant wolf appeared in Nouveau Paris. Cits. de Chagney and Lonergan were attacked and sustained wounds. The wolf's current location is unknown. No report has been made of its death. It seems to have simply vanished from our place.
The Olympics
The environment was transformed into the "Olympic village". The Olympics is an international sporting event, with athletes sequestered into a "village" during breaks in competition. People thought that they were one of multiple categories:
Athletes: Cits Blakeney (swimming), Chauvelin (swimming), Teppic (gymnastics), King-Jones (archery), Lonergan (equestrian), de Chagney (table tennis), Nazarova (?), Fanshawe (table tennis), Pond (runner), Moran (shooting)
Coaches: Cits "Spike" (shooting), Axe (?)
Other: Cits Moriarty (journalist), Drake (photographer)
Please note the discrepancy between teleported (see 'The Underwater Base') and transformed. Until further notice, both terms mean the same: the event changed the environment to something unlike Nouveau Paris.

Secrets
Everyone knew an intimate secret of another's here. Publicly revealed secrets ranged from the specific to the mundane. Examples below:
'I actually don't like the man'
'I would rather set fire to everything and watch it burn than to see other people happier to me.'
Someone nearly murdered their guardian, mentioned by Citizen Moran.
A secret related to cannibis, mentioned by Citizen Watson, possibly belonging to Citizen Kent.
A secret from one of the youths, possibly about recklessness, mentioned by Citizen Lonergan.
Someone has a drawer full of 'sex toys', mentioned by Citizen Luigi.
A secret about the nature of this place, unspecified, mentioned by Citizen Nazarova.
Citizen Moriarty listens to Abba in the shower. [well, after all that talk about what the hell ABBA is, he felt it ought to be mentioned]
Power Outage
One of the buildings lost power. This was entirely unremarkable, but of note in the fact that nobody was quite sure how the building lost power.
The Asylum
Nouveau Paris was transformed into a Bedlam House (though it was often referred to as 'an asylum' or 'a hospital'. The hospital was for mental patients. Everyone retained their memories and was a patient except those listed: Citizens Nazarova, Moriarty, Chauvelin, Blakeney, Campbell, (possibly) Smiley. The listed were doctors or in other positions of authority.
Patients were prescribed 'treatments' to cure their 'delusions'. Such treatments included, but were not limited to the following: isolation, narcotics, electroshock therapy, denial of food, sedatives. I highly suspect that this incident has put everyone in a fragile mental state-caution must be used when breaching the subject

Delusion caused by Cit. Clark
We were brought to a desert with an observatory. The event itself was fairly banal-people mingled with the locals, talked with others and visited the observatory where Cit Clark worked. Apparently, the observatory had made contact with 'aliens', beings from across the stars. A ludicrous suggestion, but one that must be looked into.
Delusion caused by Cits. Weisler and (possibly) Smiley
We were brought into Germany, circa the late 1900s. The city Berlin was divided up into East and West sectors, controlled by different countries (West Berlin by the British, East Berlin by the Germans). Those in the delusion believed that they had always lived in Berlin. Roles ranged from actress, to bureaucrat, to intelligence officer. At least one citizen was unaffected (Citizen Burnett). The main goal of that delusion was for the Westerners to bring over a 'package,' a Russian named Ostrakov (note: he corresponds with Citizen Osborn). The Easterners were trying to intercept that package. It was a mess of confusion, national ties and espionage-I do not pretend to understand all of it. If needed, ask Citizen Weisler for more on that delusion.
The Ski Slope
Nouveau Paris transformed into a ski slope. Based on comments from others here, it was a ski slope circa 1980. The clothing was ridiculous, the weather abysmal. This had to have been caused by this place-no person would imagine up something as ridiculous as that.
[but tell us how you REALLY feel, Chauvelin]

???
I really do not see how everything in this event connects. Other events have overarching themes (ex: the secrets) but this one simply makes no sense. Our lives became full of ridiculous, over the top drama, as you would find in petty gossip and lurid novels. An example: I was married to Sgt. Smith who was cheating on me with Dr. Nazarova. To the best of my recollection, Cit. Clark was the father of Cit. King-Jones, who was pregnant and was dating Cit. Campbell who did not like Cit. Clark. This event made no sense.
